Pilates plus…

At York Pilates People, we believe in maximising movement and variety to nourish your body.  Our additional classes are all available as part of our “Pilates Plus” membership, which allows you to add an extra weekly class to your YPP membership for just £15/month.  That’s less than £4 per class… what can we say, we like to look after our Pilates People! Awareness Through Movement

with Julie Wrigley – Thursdays, 12pm

Julie teaches gentle and calming mat-based classes – Awareness Through Movement – which provide a means for you to explore your whole self (body and mind), with movement as the medium.  The aim is for everyone to be able to move with maximum ease and minimum effort.

Lessons adopt a softly, softly approach, which immerses you in the moment, mindfully. You are guided to explore novel, yet gentle, movement patterns, with an emphasis on curiosity and attention.

In this way, you increase your sensitivity to yourself and fine-tune your co-ordination. The result is more mobility, balance and power, along with a sense of inner peace.

This style of class is taken from Feldenkrais – a holistic, mind-brain-body approach to re-learning how to move with grace and ease, making it possible to improve, from any starting point.

The classes can be enjoyed by all sorts of people – whether your goals are improving performance in sport, pain reduction, preventing injury or simply de-stressing.

Vinyasa Yoga

with Megan Stanford – Fridays, 10am

Mixed abilities – everybody is welcome!

Restorative Yoga

with Megan Stanford – Saturdays, 10am

Expect a slow, relaxed and extremely nourishing class which focuses on calming the mind and balancing the nervous system through restorative practice. This class will allow you the space to re-connect, creating a warm environment and tranquil experience.
