Experience the transforming effects of this beautiful practice with Joanne Merlini – Grand Master of Transformational Yoga. Trained directly with Sri Swami Vidyanand in India, Joanne brings this unique practice to York.
Her style is a gentle blend of Classic Asanas, Pranayama, Mantra & Meditation/ Mindfullness to bring a deep calmness of mind, a connection with the body and awareness of the power of our breath.
With meditations, releasing techniques, energy activating/balancing and conscious relaxation, the class is suitable for all.

Awareness Through Movement
with Julie Wrigley – Saturdays, 10:30am
“Movement is life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.”
Julie teaches gentle and calming mat-based classes – Awareness Through Movement – which provide a means for you to explore your whole self (body and mind), with movement as the medium. The aim is for everyone to be able to move with maximum ease and minimum effort.
Lessons adopt a softly, softly approach, which immerses you in the moment, mindfully. You are guided to explore novel, yet gentle, movement patterns, with an emphasis on curiosity and attention.
In this way, you increase your sensitivity to yourself and fine-tune your co-ordination. The result is more mobility, balance and power, along with a sense of inner peace.
This style of class is taken from Feldenkrais – a holistic, mind-brain-body approach to re-learning how to move with grace and ease, making it possible to improve, from any starting point.
The classes can be enjoyed by all sorts of people – whether your goals are improving performance in sport, pain reduction, preventing injury or simply de-stressing.

This dynamic flow focuses on linking movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. Vinyasa is the perfect class for you if you are looking to build and improve strength, flexibility, balance and to clear the mind.
