Liz Tiller

Pilates instructor

Where did you grow up?

My family moved around a lot for my parent’s job when I was a child so I grew up in many different places.

How did you discover Pilates?

I started to suffer with painful back issues in my mid-20s which developed to the point that I was in constant pain and often needed help with simple things like getting dressed so it was really impacting my quality of life. I was trying all sorts of things to help me deal with the issues but then someone suggested I try Pilates and it’s changed my life!

Aside from Pilates, what do you do to relax?

Getting outside in nature is really important to me and I also find photography is my best form of mindfulness. And I have an MA in Contemporary Literature so love books and escape into a good novel whenever I can!

Do you have any pets?

I have Finn who’s a gorgeous sprocker spaniel. He’s always my favourite walking companion.

What skill would you most like to learn?

I was always very creative when I was younger and loved doing ceramics so it’d be great to learn how to do that again.

What is your go to Pilates exercise?

Roll ups and rollovers. My spine loves them and they’re so good for your core!

What do you love about YPP?

I’ve been teaching at YPP since 2019 because it’s such a wonderfully friendly and positive place to be. Everyone is made to feel welcome and I love that the studio itself is such a gorgeous and calming space to spend your time, especially when the morning sun sends its rays gleaming through the windows!
