Caroline Bird
Pilates instructor at YPP
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in York!
How did you discover Pilates?
I discovered Pilates with my dad when he was training for marathons and I was suffering with ill health. We did a course together and I loved it. It would be quite a few years later that I re found my love of Pilates after having my twins.
Aside from Pilates, what do you do to relax?
I don’t have much time for a lot of relaxation at the moment due to family life and my desk job alongside teaching Pilates. But I do love to treat myself to the odd spa day/ date night where I can! I also love a cozy night in, accompanied with snacks (mainly chocolate).
Do you have any pets?
I used to have 4 cats growing up and got my own cat when I left home. My cat currently lives with my parents because he didn’t get along very well with my twins. I’d love to have pets around the house when my boys are a little older.
What skill would you most like to learn?
I would love to be able to do a backflip (writing this whilst watching my boys in their gymnastics class – the same place I used to attend when I was a child).
What is your go to Pilates exercise?
Pilates bridge with leg lifts!
What do you love about YPP?
I love YPP because of its inclusivity, friendliness and expertise! It’s the best team to work with and we have the loveliest of clients.
